Fresh summer slaw with apple and ginger
Enjoy the simple pleasures of outdoor eating with Liz’s fresh take on this family favourite. A classic summer coleslaw recipe is the perfect accompaniment to any BBQ or picnic.
This one has the delicious addition of yoghurt in the dressing recipe. Natural yoghurt is an easy way to add more beneficial gut bugs into your routine. Live yoghurt contains countless ‘friendly’ lactobacillus bacteria. This helps our digestive system run smoothly by aiding the breakdown of food, the absorption of nutrients and fighting against ‘unfriendly’ organisms that are often the cause of stomach upsets.
You’ll also notice an added zing of flavour from ginger in our coleslaw recipe here. A wellbeing favourite, ginger is thought to have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, which could help soothe muscle ache and painful joints
Serve our summer coleslaw recipe alongside jacket potatoes, salads or quiche – the list is endless. Our crustless quiche recipe is ideal is you’re looking for a low-carb meal. We also recommend enjoying with this delicious recipe for vegetarian kebabs. It’s the ideal picnic pairing!
