How Anthea Turner stays well in midlife (in 7 easy steps)
From simple skincare products to balanced nutrition (with the occasional treat), the wellbeing routine of TV presenter and brand founder, Anthea Turner, is full of tips and tricks we can all take on board.
Here, we reveal the seven key steps Anthea takes to support her wellbeing.
How Anthea Turner stays well in midlife (in 7 easy steps)
She uses effective skincare
Anthea knows that when it comes to skincare, simple is often better.
Rather than a complex 10-step regime, Anthea has streamlined her skincare, creating her own easy-to-use products in the process. She uses BALM 6 as a cleanser, moisturiser and a face mask.
Convenience is key here – the six-in-one balm also helps to nourish lashes, brows, lips and cuticles.
Plus, Anthea keeps her body moisturised and dry skin at bay with BODY 3, a beautiful body butter.

She keeps moving
Anthea likes to make time for movement. Whether that’s a quick run around the block, a Pilates workout, a gym session or a stroll outdoors.
The TV host also says she uses weights to stay toned and strong – both at the gym and at home. She also says she ‘runs everywhere’, taking the stairs two at a time. Anthea previously told Liz Earle Wellbeing Magazine that she will even squeeze in a stretching session whilst watching breakfast television.
And Anthea is a fan of getting outdoors first thing, just like our founder (and Anthea’s close friend!), Liz Earle.

She cooks at home
Cooking from scratch means we know exactly what’s going into our meals, helping us to avoid ultra-processed foods and unwanted ingredients.
Anthea regularly shares videos on her Instagram page taken while cooking up dishes in her kitchen. Her recipes include omelettes with smoked salmon, poké bowls, sage, butter and truffle tagliatelle, and beef bourguignon. Delicious.
In an interview with us, she explained that “the easiest way to eat well is to eat food that hasn’t been messed around with”.

She has a solid evening routine
Sleep is an essential for all midlife women, and it’s something that often gets disrupted at this time of life.
Anthea has got her evening routine down to tee to help her relax, unwind and ease into bedtime.
When chatting to Liz Earle Wellbeing, Anthea revealed her evening rituals include putting on a pair of pyjamas, cleansing away the day and applying her skincare, taking a bath, and drinking plenty of water.

She doesn’t restrict herself
Anthea knows the importance of eating well to feel her best. And she also knows that midlife isn’t the time for restrictive diets. Instead, she makes simple tweaks so that she can still enjoy her favourite foods.
This might mean choosing dark chocolate over milk chocolate for something sweet, or opting for sourdough over white bread. When it comes to wine, she sticks to red for the polyphenols.
Anthea aims to cut back on refined carbohydrates where possible, such as bread, pasta and pizza. That being said, she still allows herself to enjoy them as an occasional treat.
She also makes sure to keep her kitchen stocked with nuts, carrots, cucumber, and celery for when the snack-attacks hit, according to OK! Magazine.

She prioritises her health
Anthea always ensures her health is at the top of her to-do list.
Anthea has been vocal on her Instagram about being diagnosed with osteopenia in her 40s, a condition where you have lower bone density than the average for your age. If left untreated, it can lead to osteoporosis.
As a result, Anthea has made some lifestyle changes to help her deal with the condition. These include regularly doing weight-bearing exercises and eating a healthy, unprocessed diet and taking essential medications to protect her bone density.

Looks after her environment
From how to clean your sofa to keeping your clothing organised, Anthea regularly shares her advice on Instagram for keeping a home spick and span.

After all, a tidy home equals a tidy mind!
