How to make your own hand wash

Wondering how to make your own soothing hand wash at home?

If our hands are on the drier side, soap can make matters worse by disturbing the skin’s barrier and robbing it of its natural hydrators. When we make our own hand wash, however, we can add in a few extra ingredients to nourish and protect hands while the soap goes to work, leaving them squeaky clean. We can also customise with our own scent and bring less unnecessary packaging into our homes – win-win!

How to make your own hand wash

  • 120ml water
  • 120ml castile soap liquid
  • 1 tbsp vitamin E oil
  • 1 tbsp sweet almond oil
  • 20 drops essential oil(s) of your choice

  1. In a glass jar or recycled soap dispenser, add all the ingredients and shake to combine.
  2. Shake again before using to distribute the oils.
