How to make your own hand wash

Wondering how to make your own soothing hand wash at home?

If our hands are on the drier side, soap can make matters worse by disturbing the skin’s barrier and robbing it of its natural hydrators. When we make our own hand wash, however, we can add in a few extra ingredients to nourish and protect hands while the soap goes to work, leaving them squeaky clean. We can also customise with our own scent and bring less unnecessary packaging into our homes – win-win!

Lavender essential oil can be a gorgeous scent to infuse hand wash with. Not only does it smell heavenly, it can help to soothe a frazzled mental state too. A number of studies show that lavender can help to promote relaxation and sleep.

Liz also loves to use uplifting geranium, or sweet neroli as an essential oil. Don’t forget, you can save 15% off essential oils at Neal’s Yard Therapies with the code LIZLOVES.
