How to make bath salts at home
There’s little better than melting into a warm bath at the end of long day. Bath salts can add another level of luxury to any tub. The great news is they’re super easy to make at home too. Our beauty DIY here couldn’t be simpler. All you need are two ingredients and you’ll soon be on your way to bathtime bliss.
These salts are particularly good to use last thing at night as they can support you on your way to a good night’s sleep. Plus, if restless legs are the source of insomnia, there’s some evidence that a hot bath laced with magnesium salts can help.
We’ve included a few drops of jasmine essential oil to our magnesium mixture for its floral fragrance and anti-spasmodic benefits.
How to make bath salts
Ingredients
- 400g Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate)
- 15 drops jasmine essential oil
Method
- In a large bowl, gently stir together the ingredients until thoroughly combined.
- Spoon the mixture into a clean, airtight container.
- Throw a handful of the salts into a running bath.
