We love to use live yoghurt when creating our face masks. It contains lactic acid, a natural alpha-hydroxy acid that can help to smooth and brighten skin. We’ve paired it here with anti-inflammatory rose and soothing oats for a sensitive skin-friendly mask.

Honey is also another skin-friendly saviour. Clinical observations show that honey, thanks to its antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties, can be effective in treating skin conditions such as eczema. When bees make honey, they produce an enzyme called hydrogen peroxide, which kills most strains of harmful bacteria and fungi – lowering the risk of these sort of infections occurring in the hive.
