DIY hair mask oil for longer thicker hair

Making this DIY hair mask couldn’t be simpler and treating hair with a weekly mask can help strengthen our strands and may even promote new growth. Invest in a good quality carrier oil, such as organic argan oil (rich in vitamin E) or melt a little some coconut oil, then add a few drops of aromatherapy oils and store away from sunlight until ready to use.
If you have dandruff, try replacing the rosemary oil with 10 drops each of lemongrass oil and cedarwood oil.

Ingredients

  • 100ml argan oil
  • 15 drops lavender oil
  • 10 drops peppermint oil
  • 10 drops rosemary oil
  • 5 drops tea tree oil

Method

  1. Place the argan oil in a dark glass bottle and add the aromatherapy oils. Shake to mix well and store away from sunlight for future use.
  2. Work 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoons) of the mixed oil through your hair ends while dry. Leave for 10 minutes then shampoo and condition as normal. For a revitalising scalp treatment, try working a few drops into the scalp with the fingertips.
  3. Repeat 1-2 times per week.
