“This is my current morning skincare routine” – the beauty buys Liz is loving right now
As skin matures, it can feel tempting to ramp up our skincare regime and slather on product after product. But this, as Liz explains, isn’t necessary.
“My skincare routine isn’t complicated,” she says. “It just contains a few simple staples that I know genuinely work – without overloading my skin.”
Here, Liz shares the beauty buys that she’s currently loving, and how she uses them in her morning routine.
Liz Earle’s current morning skincare routine
First thing
Liz keeps things simple – after waking and rehydrating with a glass of water and added electrolytes, she gives her skin a quick cleanse with a soft flannel or cotton cloth with some warm water to wipe away the night.
True Hydration
“This just helps to remove any sebum and dead skin cells that might be lingering on the complexion,” she explains.
After this, Liz will massage in a nourishing face oil to help deeply hydrate the skin and give her a more glowy, plumped up look. She’s currently loving this one by Eko Botanicals.
“Going into the colder months, a face oil gives you a little bit of extra hydration, especially if your skin is more mature and quite dry like mine,” she says. “But it’s also the chance to give yourself a little bit of a facial massage at the same time.
“And this is just excellent for the lymphatics. First thing this has become my morning must-do. I’ve found this has made a real difference when it comes to brightening and de-puffing.”
While the face oil is soaking in (usually for around 20-30 minutes), Liz will continue her morning routine – usually heading outside to get natural light and regulate her circadian rhythm, or fitting in some movement such as strength training.
Post-morning routine
If Liz has been working out, she’ll then give her face another quick cleanse before hopping in the shower. After this, she’ll finish off her skincare routine.
“While the skin is still slightly damp and quite receptive, I’ll use a vitamin C serum and this goes on really well if the skin is slightly damp,” she says. “You just need a few drops onto the palms and then pat that on.”
Vitamin C is a powerful skin booster for helping to brighten the complexion. It’s also good for reducing signs of pigmentation – ideal after a very sunny summer.
After this, Liz locks in hydration with a moisturiser. She’s currently loving NEX Skincare Moisturiser – clinically proven to target and repair fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation, while boosting collagen and elastin for intense hydration.
“And – bonus tip here – if I’m feeling a little bit fancy, I might mix in a tiny bit of liquid bronzer with it,” says Liz. “Especially now that we’re out of the summer, it just gives you that little bit of a healthy glow.”

And to finish…
As the weather is turning a little cooler, Liz completes her routine by using a little castor oil.
“I like to use this on my lips – it’s good for conditioning the lips and also gives you a little bit of shine,” she says. “Sometimes I put a little bit through my eyebrows too, as castor oil is reputed to help the hair grow.”
