Autumn flower arrangements
Succulent gourds
These make sweet party table favours or gifts. Pack hollowed-out gourds with one or two succulents and some moss. These gourds last a few days, while the succelents can go on to to find a permanent new home in a terrarium. Place the gourds on saucers if they’re going to sit on a surface for an extended period, as they may leave a stain as they age.
Fruity foliage display
The unexpected combination of fruit and foliage makes this simple pitcher arrangement a real eye-catcher. Sturdy twigs hold the pomegranates in place. We mixed in oak leaves, eucalyptus, berried eucalyptus and astrantia.
Pretty pumpkin centrepiece
Place a jar or vase with water inside a hollowed-out pumpkin. These dahlias came straight from the garden. Put the pumpkin on a plate if it’s going to sit on the same surface for a while to avoid staining.
Artichoke candleholders
Sculptural globe artichokes make striking candleholders. Slice away the stem so the artichoke sits flat, and remove some of the inner leaves to make room for the tea light. Remember to never leave candles unattended.
