Spiced chocolate orange dateballs

Ingredients

  • 12 Medjool dates, chopped
  • 100g toasted hazelnuts
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 orange, zest and juice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of mixed spice
  • 100g orange-flavoured dark chocolate, melted and cooled
  • Edible spray glitter (optional)

Method

  1. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Put the chopped dates, hazelnuts, cacao powder, orange juice and zest, and spices into a food processor and whizz until fully combined.
  2. Pinch off walnut-sized pieces of mixture and roll into small balls. Stick a cocktail stick into each ball, stand on the baking tray and chill for half an hour.
  3. Remove from the fridge, dip into the belted chocolate, shaking off any excess, then pop back in the fridge to set.
  4. Just before serving, take out the cocktails sticks and spray with a little edible gold glitter spray.
